US Mint Releases New Coins

US Mint or The United States Mint primarily produces circulating coinage for the United States to conduct its trade and commerce. Recent news, US Mint on Thursday sent a memo to their Authorized Purchasers with release details about the upcoming 2011 America the Beautiful Silver Bullion Coins. They expect to start selling the 2011 Gettysburg National Military Park Silver Bullion Coins in late April.

Other news, US Mint also will release the 2011 five ounce silver bullion coins with "no terms and conditions," save one. In addition, the US Mint indicated quantities of the new silver bullion coins will be "substantially higher" than the 2010 issues. Last year they only offered 33,000 of each of the five different coins.

Distribution of the 2011 series will be equal among the participating Authorized Purchasers who certified that they have complied with last year's rules.

America the Beautiful Silver Bullion Coins’ design are the same as the obverse and reverse of the circulating America the Beautiful Quarters. A total of 56 national parks or other national sites in each state, U.S. Territory and the District of Columbia will be honored between 2010 and 2021.

US Mint has not indicated when it will begin offering the collector uncirculated versions of the 2010 and 2011 America the Beautiful Silver Coins. Expected, their releases out this year.
